Architect?
DO I NEED AN ARCHITECT?
8 out of 10 times the answer to this question is “YES”! Traxlse can help you determine very quickly if your project will require the involvement of an architect or not.
Whether or not your project requires an architect, and / or whether you want to use an architect are two different questions. The “requirement” of an architect can be due to one of many reasons that we can discuss with you. The “want” to use an architect is typically desired by most, however, the perception of working with an architect, and the perception of high costs from the architect, skews this a bit. I ALREADY HAVE AN ARCHITECT
Great! Has your architect mentioned several times during conversation any terms that you are unfamiliar with? Have you found yourself a bit lost trying to understand some of the steps in the design process? Has your architect sent you sketches, drawings, reports, etc. that you are trying to file somewhere at home or at your office?

ISN’T THIS WHAT ARCHITECTS DO?
“Yes”. The catch is that architects don’t consider “pre-design” a basic service and charge you extra for such service. If you sign a contract with an architect to design your project, then that contract includes, typically, a lump sum price for the architect’s “basic” services – see below. You, the client, must provide to the architect what you want to design…what your budget is…what your style is…how the building / home is to function…specific materials or products you want to incorporate…certain schedule opportunities / conflicts your project may require…etc. etc. etc. The architect isn’t going to guess what you think you want, for example. If that’s the case, it will cost you a lot of extra time and money on your end.
A Building Profile circumvents this entire process and helps you, the client, identify the specifics to your project that the architect and / or builder must have in order to develop your vision.

A design professional may charge you upwards of tens of thousands of dollars to generate the “Program” for your project. They will ask you countless questions about what you want, what you need, what you think you can afford, what your timeframe is, what your style is like, how you want your project to function, etc. Traxsle’s Building Profile quickly carries you through a process of answering these questions to help you avoid spending thousands of dollars with design professionals.
YOUR ENERGY
If you do not have your Buiding Project established, then your design professional will spend countless hours drafting design iterations to arrive at a “program” that works for your project and fits within your preliminary budget. This equates to a lot of wasted time, even if there is no added cost!
Design Scheme 1 – Over budget. Too much sq.ft.
Design Scheme 2 – Failed to solve the problem. Non-functional or doesn’t work.
Design Scheme 3 – Wrong architectural style. Not compatible to client’s vision.
Design Scheme 4 – Poor planning. Future area to expand does not exist.
